The 2005 GoGirlGo! grant winners are rewarded for their dedication to the development of girls' sports programs.

The drum roll begins as it is time to announce this year’s GoGirlGo! Grant winners. More than $200,000 was awarded to 31 deserving organizations. Each grant will provide financial assistance to sports and physical activity programs who wish to add new or expanded program participation opportunities for under-served girls. The Foundation believes these winners will have great success in discouraging young girls from engaging in risky behavior, and help them to develop a healthy lifestyle. This is the primary focus of the GoGirlGo! project. Since 2001, more than 280,000 girls have gotten involved in the project and more than $1,000,000 has been donated to support opportunities.

The local recipient in Western MA is Susan Jaye- Kaplan, Pioneer Valleys Women’s Running Club/Go FIT Inc, Longmeadow, MA, $1,300.

This is the second year that this award has been presented to this organization. Grant written by Ms. Jaye-Kaplan for Walk to Run programming.
